About Me

Mission

Welcome Dear Readers,

Cook Until Brown is a passion project. This site will operate as a professional blog as I continue my own journey as a culinary arts student and a line cook. As my experience deepens, I hope to grow this platform into a multimedia networking resource dedicated to identifying and uplifting the voices and talents of POC culinary professionals at all ends of the industry.

About Me

My name is Chris Marhevka. I am a home-cook-turned-culinary-professional now in my second career, pursuing culinary arts. Adopted from the Philippines and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, I earned my degree as a Master of Science in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University. I have worked for over 7 years as a licensed social worker, and now as a LCSW in Colorado, I work part-time as a mental health therapist, Over the course of the pandemic, I realized that my passion for food could become more than just a hobby, Culinary Arts hold multitudes of perspectives, from science to business, culture, and history. By utilizing my educational foundation of sociology and psychology, I hope to build upon my culinary skills in order to create a space in which underrepresented and underserved communities of color can share their stories and support each other.
